Wnat a free, online desktop?
Me too!
Cosmopod has recently launched offering just such a beast utilizing the KDE desktop operating in kiosk mode. Their servers are getting hammered right now and I can’t get logged in, but I’m sure trying!
The first one to get in has to report back here :)

Paid for Penguin.

Friday, October 28th, 2005

Paying for a penguin sounds bad if you don’t know what’s going on, doesn’t it? But it’s the truth - I paid for our little penguin a couple of days ago and now we’re waiting.
Waiting for pics, certificates, and whatever else is coming our way. Thanks once again to everyone who contributed to saving this […]

Positive Notes.

Thursday, October 27th, 2005

I’ve written a post on my personal blog about keeping things positive in the new GNU/Linux user space. It was sparked by a book I read (which I found to be kind of negative) and then hearing the author of the book on another podcast and feeling the same negative vibe come out.
I’m not going […]

Moving Show Furl.

Thursday, October 27th, 2005

I’ve decided to use de.lirio.us instead of Furl (or del.icio.us for that matter) to store the show’s bookmarks collection. This is largely due to the fact that de.lirio.us uses the open Xfolk bookmark standard which is a good thing ™.
I’ll be moving the bookmarks over the next few days. Until I’m done I’ll link both […]

Podcatching! We talk about podcatching and check out how Bashpodder works. Kelly really shows me how bizarre the entire podcatching model is. Who knew?

Contact With the Penguin Foundation!

Monday, October 24th, 2005

I just received this email from Courtney at the Penguin Foundation:

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you I was away from my office last week. It’s great to hear that you want to adopt your very own Little Penguin for listeners. To answer your question I can definitely send all correspondence to yourself, […]

Zippy fast right now…perhaps our problems are over? That would be good timing since we’re just finishing up next week’s show….!

Server Update.

Friday, October 21st, 2005

Hi Guys,
I posted a note in the show forums about the state of our servers right now. It’s disappointing, but after putting up with the downtime during the recent server upgrades, we’re not getting the performance we had hoped.
The TPN sites are getting hit hard because…well, hell because our shows rock! and we’ve gone to […]
