Digg actually had a useful link on it today: a link to a GNU/Linux HOWTO site. There are tons of articles on here about installing different distros and how to configure them post-install.

They seem to be written by users and I’m not sure if they’re vetted for accruacy so you may want to be a little cautious. Overall they seem to be of pretty high quality though.
