Building the Test Machine.

Hardware ain’t my thing. I built my first computer a decade and a half ago and I’ve got lots of bits and pieces lying around, but I really haven’t kept up with how they all fit together anymore. I’m a software guy.

So, I have all these bits (some donated, some borrowed, some from who knows where) and have sat down to build the test machine for the show.

Problem #1 - find a case that both the donated motherboard will fit into and also has an ATX power supply. Thankfully, I have 3 cases and one of them actually fits the bill.

And after two hours that’s all that happened. I can’t get this bad boy to turn on. I’ve got the leads attached as best as I can tell from the GA-7DXR manual, but there’s just no joy when I turn it on. I’ve tried two switches, two power supplies and three power cables.

I’ll have to tag someone that actually has a clue about hardware tomorrow.

Just wanted you all to know that I actually started working on it :)
