I *am*? Wow...it never even occured to me that there might be a different way to say it. When I get to a computer with speakers, I'll take a listen to that link.

Thanks!

Hi Olivier,

It seems that main IM client used is the one that's already installed on whatever computer someone happens to be using. We see again that the software vendors have a great influence on that.

I've used Miranda before - I remember liking it quite a big. Gaim is a pretty good IM client as well.

Thanks!

Hi,

About the IM.. In France apprently, MSN is the main IM used, coz it's right installed on the desktop and people over here are not yet fully aware of the net :s

And I don't know any new Windows based PC with other IMs than MSN....

However, I'm using Miranda-im on windows and Gaim on Ubuntu (dual boot), using Jabber, msn, yahoo, gtalk/jabber, icq, aim)

All is well now. Thanks for the quick attention to this problem. Bashpodder now automatically downloads podcast #21 and #22.

Hi Billus,

You know what? I never noticed that I was doing that. Of course that makes sense since the OGG is so much bigger than the MP3.

After putting together a show we're usually so tired that sometimes little things like that get by us :)

I'll tone it down. Thanks for pointing that out!

Why are you encoding the OGG files at a higher bitrate to the mp3 files?

Are you trying to provide a higher quality show option?

You could always use a lower Quality value. From what i understand OGG will be a better quality than MP3 even with the same size output file.

p.s. Still really enjoy your shows, keep up the good work.

So...this is a rather hard thing to troubleshoot in GNU/Linux since there are so few podcatchers out there for it.

Bashpodder (well, BPconf) does the same thing - it starts at show 19 and goes down. Both Podcast Pickle and Yahoo Podcasts don't have any show over number 20.

iPodder is such a piece of crap I can't get it to install....so....my best guess is that you're right - there might be something wrong with the RSS feed.

I'll ask the techhy dudes at TPN and see what they can see.

In the meantime, if anyone is using a podcatcher and getting shows 21 and 22 - please let us know!

Edit: Just checked on Kelly's Mac and only up to show 20 is showing up in iTunes as well.

I see that podcast #21 and #22 are up, but my podcatcher won't pull them down (like it has previous GNU/Linux User podcasts).

T'would be nice if you'd fix up the RSS so that we could automatically get the podcasts without having to chase 'em down and download by hand.

Unreliable bash scripts? Not!
