Building the Test Machine.

Monday, October 17th, 2005

Hardware ain’t my thing. I built my first computer a decade and a half ago and I’ve got lots of bits and pieces lying around, but I really haven’t kept up with how they all fit together anymore. I’m a software guy.
So, I have all these bits (some donated, some borrowed, some from who knows […]

Well I sent away an email to the Penguin Foundation letting them know that we had raised the funds and that we were ready to adopt out penguin. I got this in reply:

Saturday, October 15th, 2005

We did it!
As of 10:30 this morning (MST) you guys have raised enough money to adopt a penguin for a year from The Penguin Foundation.
Thank you all so much for your generosity. I’ll be posting more information shortly. I have to get things organized to get the money down there!
Thanks again!
Jon and Kelly!

Motorola Sponsoring The Podcast Network!

Friday, October 14th, 2005

We’re legit!
Looky the shiny ROKR banner. No touchy…just look.
Mick and Cameron have landed our first network-wide advertiser and they did it with a freaking BANG! No small-time mom and pop advertisers for us. TPN has signed a three-month sponsorship deal with freakin’ Motorola!
I feel pretty proud that the long (it seemed) wait is over. I’ve […]

Adopt a Penguin - Almost There!

Friday, October 14th, 2005

Hey guys - we’re down to the last $20 (US). That’s all we need to adopt our little penguin for a year for the show. That’s only 4 people to donate $5. Or two to donate $10…or whatever - I don’t do math :)
We’re so close, I’d love to see us make it. Remember, the […]

Wednesday, October 12th, 2005

Update: We’re halfway there! We’ve collected $35 of the $70. Please donate - every little bit helps!
During show #18 Kelly Penguin Girl and I were bantering about The Penguin Foundation. The Penguin Foundation is one of these wildlife groups that runs a sanctuary. In this particular case, the sanctuary is located in Australia and is […]

Show #19 Update.

Tuesday, October 11th, 2005

I’ve been having a ‘distro from hell’ week here in Camp Linux. Due to that, show #19 is going to be a little late. I’ve got the show complete and am converting it into MP 3 and OGG as we speak, but I won’t have time to do the show notes tonight.
I’m hoping to get […]

Test Machine Resurrected.

Monday, October 10th, 2005

Great news!
A member of the Calgary Linux User’s Group (who wishes to remain anonymous) has donated a whole schwack-load of hardware to the cause. I think I have enough stuff now to build the test machine and it’s going to be better than the original plan.
Hopefully I’ll have some time tomorrow to build it.
I think […]
