Who knew some penguins had blue heads? I sure didn’t. Please send your suggestions in to Kelly (kellypenguingirl at gmail) for names. It’s so sad to have a penguin with no name…

For a penguin with a blue head, (s)he’s quite adorable.
Any name really should make a reference to the color blue.

Actually, it’s said that this particular breed of penguin was the kind that bit Linus Torvalds and gave him the inspiration for Tux as a Linux mascot.

Well my thought is to name this little fellow after a gentleman who helped promote Linux to the big business enterprise and recently passed on due to cancer.
I’d call this little fellow Berenstein after the co-founder of Xandros and a person who did a lot to help promote Linux to hard-headed executives.
If you prefer at least we could name him after current Google resident and Internet master Cerf who probably had more to do with us ever knowing about a penguin need in Australia through the internet than most of us will ever acknowledge.
I tend to have a nastalgic feeling toward the days of arpanet and how it all began… sorry. ;)

Just checked out the details of the little blue penguin, cute.
Any idea whether it is male or female?
Seeing as in Australia it is called the fairy penguin how about Tinkerbell
And as it is blue how about (I)ckle (B)lue eudyptula (M)inor
Or as they are know to bite the hand that feeds it how about Redmond ;-)

I think we have something like 10 names to pick from now. I think Kelly has her heart set on ‘Bloreo’ against all common sense…but that’s why we love her, right?
