What’s an installfest? Well, you bring in a computer that you want to run Linux on, and the guys there help you install and tweak Linux! It’s a very cool Linux community thing that you won’t see happening for any other OS (largely because of the copyright of most other OSes).

Most local Linux User Groups hold installfests and tweakfests (bring in your existing Linux computer and have the experts help you make it sing) on a somewhat regular basis. If you’re not near Calgary then check with your closes Linux Users Group.

Details for the Calgary installfest:

Where: DeVry College (up on Memorial drive)
When: June 18th, 9:30am to 5:3pm
More info: http://www.clug.ca
