Things like that. They’re all great ideas though!

It occurs to me that some of my listeners may be on dial-up and therefore downloading a many-hundred-meg Live CD to try out a Linux distro may not be feasible.

If you’re one of these people, drop me an email to thelinuxusershow at gmail dot com; tell me what distro you’d like, and give me a mailing address. I’ll download (or copy if I have it sitting around) a copy of the distro and mail it to you.

For now let’s keep requests to Live CDs only as downloading full distros all day long will get unmanageable very quickly. As well, my offer is for regular old Canada Post mailing. If you want the CD faster, let me know and I’ll calculate shipping for you.

On that note, my Puppy Linux Live CD just finished downloading and I’m off to play with that.

If you're one of these people, drop me an email to thelinuxusershow at gmail dot com; tell me what distro you'd like, and give me a mailing address. I'll download (or copy if I have it sitting around) a copy of the distro and mail it to you.

For now let's keep requests to Live CDs only as downloading full distros all day long will get unmanageable very quickly. As well, my offer is for regular old Canada Post mailing. If you want the CD faster, let me know and I'll calculate shipping for you.

On that note, my Puppy Linux Live CD just finished downloading and I'm off to play with that.</itunes:summary>

TUX is arguably the first magazine (well, PDF) aimed at beginner Linux users and best of all - it’s free!

TUX is brought to you by SSC Publishing which is the group behind Linux Journal, Linux Gazette, and Doc’s IT Garagage just to namedrop a few names.

I downloaded and skimmed the first two issues (hey! I still have to go to work!) and they are absolutely jammed packed with excellent tutorials, reviews, and information about a variety of Linux applications. As promised, the articles are written with the beginner user in mind.

I’ve sent in a query to see if I can get someone from TUX on the show so hopefully we’ll get to learn more about TUX in the future. For the moment, I highly recommend giving the site a visit by clicking here.
