Show Furl

Saturday, August 6th, 2005

Tony dropped me an email today to tip me off about the KDE Apps repository here.
I’ve decided to start a show Furl (link on the right side under Beginner Resources) to keep track of sites like this. So far Tony’s is the only one in there, but as the list grows, the Furl will get […]

KDE Help Site

Saturday, July 30th, 2005

Lauri Watts from KDE stopped by the show forums today and made use of the ‘Correct Jon’ forum.
After our help show in which we noticed that the KDE help was kinda clunky, she wanted to point out that there is an excellent online KDE documentation project at http://docs.kde.org/
Thanks for stopping by, Lauri and thanks for […]

Show Topic ‘Todo’ List

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

As promised, here’s my first kick at the cat of organizing all the great show ideas you’ve all given me over the past little while. Most of the suggestions made it, but a few were chopped off.

Linux Hardware Compatiblity

Saturday, June 18th, 2005

I found a list of hardware that is compatible with Linux (or at least people have reportedly been able to get said hardware working with Linux). I added it to the links at the right hand side.
Hope that helps!

Free Live CDs.

Monday, June 13th, 2005

It occurs to me that some of my listeners may be on dial-up and therefore downloading a many-hundred-meg Live CD to try out a Linux distro may not be feasible.
If you’re one of these people, drop me an email to thelinuxusershow at gmail dot com; tell me what distro you’d like, and give me a […]

Test Driving Linux

Friday, June 10th, 2005

Apparently David Brickner agrees with me. He’s written a book entitled Test Driving Linux. The book is a whopping 384 pages long and apparently (althouth I won’t swear to this) comes with a Linux live CD (don’t know what distro).
