			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hardware ain&#8217;t my thing. I built my first computer a decade and a half ago and I&#8217;ve got lots of bits and pieces lying around, but I really haven&#8217;t kept up with how they all fit together anymore. I&#8217;m a software guy.</p>
<p>So, I have all these bits (some donated, some borrowed, some from who knows where) and have sat down to build the test machine for the show.</p>
<p>Problem #1 - find a case that both the donated motherboard will fit into and also has an ATX power supply. Thankfully, I have 3 cases and one of them actually fits the bill.</p>
<p>And after two hours that&#8217;s all that happened. I can&#8217;t get this bad boy to turn on. I&#8217;ve got the leads attached as best as I can tell from the GA-7DXR manual, but there&#8217;s just no joy when I turn it on. I&#8217;ve tried two switches, two power supplies and three power cables.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll have to tag someone that actually has a clue about hardware tomorrow.</p>
<p>Just wanted you all to know that I actually started working on it :)</p>
